I thought I loved God by devoutly praying the Rosary daily and going to mass daily. I thought I had a personal relationship with Him. For 34 years I thought He was really here with me. I was wrong. He was not. But that was my fault. I used Him for 34 years. And I had an awakening. One day, among many other times. When my wife and I were having a shouting match to the point it got hysterical. I suddenly stopped and realized, something within me when my wife said to me, " Where is all this anger coming from." I realized that I had suppressed emotions as a maladaptive type of coping mechanism I still used as an adult which i used as a child due to my unmet needs at that time. I had projected all my unconscious actions to my wife in a very dangerous way to the point of almost separation. Here, I learned about Spirutual-bypassing and childhood trauma. Now, after 34 years of "religiousity", I question myself, " Did I really love God?" And Is He significant ? My question is, where is the division line between the, self reliance you are talking about and self compassion I have learned from Compassion Inquiry therapy? Finally, I integrate CI of Dr. Mate with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT. ACT, lets go of negative circumstances and thus lets go of any control . Shouldn't we at least have the control of choice to make use of these modalities to sooth ourselves. I feel a part of myself that is protecting the hurt I felt by the spiritual bypass I did to myself. I feel I could repeat this to myself. Its not God whi did this to me. Its me. My value is to be able to seek my authentic self and seek my personal relationship with God I think I've reached a " Dark Night of the Soul?"

Yeah I’m so elated about this woman husband converting to the Catholic Church before he passed on from this earthly life and received the sacraments while he still was living,but what I’m even more elated about is that he received the sacrament of last rights which is extreme unction before he died which is for us Catholics a guaranteed way to be saved. I know that for those who are not Catholics they cannot understand or believe this but of what I’ve mentioned is in scripture
